ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Parish, accept the responsibility and challenge for the mission of Jesus to the Catholic Church "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." This is accomplished by creating a Christian community of Jesus which is alive and proclaims our worship, education, and service to others.
The Assumption Parish has answered the call to feed the hungry for many years. Those who come to us in need are helped by your generosity. The result was the creation of the Parish Food Pantry. Since it’s inception, the Food Pantry has received Assumption’s wholehearted support with food and funds.
With volunteers and the donation of non-perishable food we have been helped to meet the needs of our needy community. The Food Pantry is located in the Rectory and available to the needy during office hours 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, September through May, and 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. during the summer months.
On Thanksgiving Day volunteers donate and cook a holiday dinner that is open to anyone. Whether someone is in need of a holiday dinner, or wishing to share a meal with others at what can sometimes be a very lonely time for them. Dinner is cooked at our Parish Hall and open from 11:00 to 2:00.
