For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and accepting the embrace of God.
The Sacrament of Baptism is the first of our seven sacraments. It is through Baptism that the stain of original sin, and any other sin, is wiped away and we become new members of the Body of Christ and the Catholic Church. We extend a special welcome to you if you are trying to find out more about Baptism for yourself, or for your child. Contact Deacon Ernie Trujillo for an appointment at 480-861-5420 or email@example.com.
If you are an adult who is seeking more information on how to become a member of the Catholic Church, please consider The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). For information about our RCIA program, contact Linda Pintar at (480) 250-1320.
Baptisms are held at Assumption Church most Sundays during mass, or Saturdays between 10 a.m. and no later than 2 p.m. Mass attendance every Sunday is encouraged. Private Baptisms may be scheduled with a priest or deacon, and depend upon the availability of the church.
To arrange to have your child baptized at Assumption, please call the Parish Office at 520-868-5940.
Parents and godparents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class. Please call the Parish office to register for a class.
ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Parish, accept the responsibility and challenge for the mission of Jesus to the Catholic Church "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." This is accomplished by creating a Christian community of Jesus which is alive and proclaims our worship, education, and service to others.
